The Baye Fall wordmark is embroidered directly into the fleece — raised white stitching you can feel with your thumb, with the SPIRIT badge below it. Nothing else on the garment.
Why Embroidery
Printed designs sit on top of fabric. Embroidery is in it.
The practical difference shows up over time: printed graphics crack, fade and peel with washing. Stitching doesn’t. This hoodie will look the same after three winters as it does on the first day.
The other difference is tone. Embroidery reads as considered rather than loud — which is exactly the point of this piece.
The Quiet One
There are several ways to wear Baye Fall heritage in this collection. This is the most discreet.
Someone who knows what Baye Fall means will recognise it across a room. Someone who doesn’t will see a well-made hoodie with a clean varsity logo. That gap is the appeal.
It works where the bolder pieces don’t — a meeting, a quiet dinner, a Sunday with people you don’t need to explain yourself to.
Two Embroidered Pieces
We make two hoodies with stitched rather than printed designs, and the difference is deliberate:
- This one carries the wordmark — white thread, no colour, maximum restraint.
- The Embroidered Crest hoodie carries the emblem — green, gold and red, with the BF monogram and the crossed clubs. More visible, more colour.
Same technique, two different statements. Choose by how much you want to say.
What Baye Fall Means
The Baye Fall are the branch of Senegal’s Mouride brotherhood founded by Cheikh Ibra Fall — a Wolof nobleman who renounced his claim to power in 1883 and built a movement on the principle that honest work is itself a form of worship.
That idea shaped an economy, a visual identity and a way of living that still runs from Touba to Brooklyn, Paris and Milan.

Care
Machine wash cold, inside out. Hang to dry or tumble dry low. Do not iron directly over the embroidery — press from the reverse if needed. Washing inside out protects the stitching.
If You Want It Louder
- The Ligueye Diamou Yalla hoodie carries the Baye Fall motto — work is worship — in patchwork-filled lettering.
- The Ndiakhass Sleeve hoodie covers both sleeves and the hood lining in full patchwork.
- The Full Ndiakhass hoodie covers the entire garment.
They all say the same thing. This one whispers it.
