Mame Cheikh Ibrahima Fall — Lamp Fall, the light of Mouridism — rendered as a high-contrast stencil portrait beneath the Baye Fall wordmark.
Who He Was
Born around 1855 in the kingdom of Cayor, he came from the royal line of the damel — the Wolof nobility. He could have claimed power.
In 1883 he found Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba and submitted to him completely. He renounced any claim to chieftaincy and placed himself at his master’s service — not as a scholar, but as a labourer.
That choice created the Baye Fall. His teaching, khidma, held that honest work performed for the community is itself an act of worship. It opened Mouridism to people who would never become scholars, and it built an ethic that still shapes Senegal today.
He is remembered as Babul Mouridina, the Gate of Mouridism. The tallest minaret of the Great Mosque of Touba carries his name.

The Design

The portrait itself is kept simple and graphic. No embellishment.

We’ll say this plainly: this piece carries the image of a figure venerated by millions.
If you wear it, know who he was. That’s the only thing we’d ask. A portrait worn without the story behind it is just a graphic — and this one deserves better than that.

Care
Machine wash cold, inside out. Hang to dry or tumble dry low. Do not bleach. Do not iron directly over the print — the distressed texture is part of the design and heat will flatten it.
